Roars of Approval

Hear directly from one of our first girls to complete the Girls Who Roar program. In this short, heartfelt video, Abbie shares how the experience helped her navigate friendship challenges, build emotional resilience, and grow into a more confident young woman.

Her story reflects what so many students are feeling. From developing healthy boundaries to learning that strength doesn’t always mean being the loudest in the room, her journey shows the personal growth this program inspires.

“The Girls Who Roar program has been an incredibly valuable offering for our students at Maitland Grossmann High School, providing our young people with a supportive, inclusive, and relatable space to explore their values and build confidence in their unique, authentic selves. Girls Who Roar tackles key topics that are essential to teenage mental health and wellbeing.

The program can be completed online at any time. I met with the girls completing the program once a week for an hour to engaged in rich in discussion and peer connection. The journal itself became a powerful resource students could take with them, offering continued support well beyond the school gates.

Unfortunately, due to funding limitations, we are currently unable to continue our collaboration with the wonderful Barbara and her fabulous team. We remain hopeful for future opportunities to expand access to this impactful program.” Lauren H, Student Support Officer

“As Head Teacher of Wellbeing at Mount View High School, I wholeheartedly recommend the Girls Who Roar program. This program has been such a beautiful gift to our school Mount View High, truly lifting up our girls with love and encouragement. It has helped them grow stronger, more confident, and proud of who they are. The focus on resilience and positive mental health has brought so much joy and strength to their everyday lives. We are so grateful for the way this program has touched the hearts of our students.” Jodie Scheffler – Head Teacher Wellbeing, Mount View High School

“It was so so so good and I wish it went for the whole year instead of only 6 weeks.” Heidi R, Aged 13

“Its a really fun thing to do. I done it with school and I met a lot of people who had the same issues with school as me a bunch I knew and a bunch I didn’t but it is awesome. Highly recommend.” Lily R

Tell Me More…

  • Nope! All the hard work is done for you. All you need is a group of girls and a comfortable space where they can sit, chat, and connect with one another. Our online conversational videos guide each session covering topics, prompting reflection, and leading activities, so there’s no need for formal facilitation or prior experience.

  • The beauty of Girls Who Roar is that it’s 100% online and entirely flexible. This means you can adapt the program to suit your school’s timetable, group size, and student needs.

  • No problem at all. We understand that attendance can vary. As long as the student has their own device, they can catch up on any missed sessions via the online platform, at a time that suits them.

  • Girls Who Roar is designed for teens aged 13 to 18. The content is relevant, relatable, and developmentally

appropriate for students navigating the emotional, social, and self-discovery challenges of the teen years.

  • Once your school is enrolled, each participating student receives a beautifully curated Welcome Pack delivered straight to your school.

  • Each student needs their own individual enrolment. Every enrolment includes a personal login and a Welcome Pack, both essential parts of the program. The Welcome Pack is a key tool that supports the learning journey, each item connects directly to the weekly content and reflection activities. At enrolment, each student also completes a Strengths Survey via their personal login. The results are used throughout the program to help students better understand their unique qualities and engage more deeply with the content. This personalised approach is why one enrolment per student is crucial.

  • We’ll issue an invoice directly to your school (inclusive of GST), making it easy to process through your existing systems. If budget is a barrier, don’t worry! There are plenty of ways to make Girls Who Roar happen. Many schools have successfully accessed wellbeing grants or partnered with local businesses and community organisations. We encourage you to explore funding opportunities available in your local area, such as youth or mental health grants or regional education initiatives. We’re happy to provide guidance and ideas for seeking funding.
